These are real results from an actual high school meet.
Notice that it was a combined race of both Frosh-Soph Boys and Varsity Girls.
Yeah, we can handle that!

To use the import tool:

  • Navigate to your meet
  • Pick the event
  • Pick the race or create a new one
  • Select ‘Import Times’
  • Select ‘Scan Handwritten Text’
  • Choose a photo from your device or use your camera to take a new one
    • Tip: TRY IT OUT! You can test it out on the image above.
    • Tip: Crop the photo as close as possible to prevent any other data from getting scanned.
    • Tip: The data needs to be in a table format like the example above. You don’t have to draw lines or use punctuation. Regular notebook paper works great.
    • Tip: Write as neatly as possible. Find a volunteer that does not have chicken scratch.
  • Visually inspect the data that comes back from the scan (OCR). Each ‘cell’ of the data will be on a new line.
  • Delete/Fix any random data that comes back.
  • If it’s way off, just try again. The AI scanning won’t always return the same result.
    • If you goof, just use the undo button below the imported text.
  • Once the data looks about right, check the boxes for which columns were included in the data. ‘Numbers’ and ‘Times’ are the default. The ‘Place’ is assumed by the order unless you specify it manually.
  • Pick one of the formatting options to have the app clean up your data:
    • Format Imported Text OR
    • Format With AI (experimental)
  • Inspect your data again.
    • If anything looks out of place, manually fix it, or tap the undo button and try again.
    • It should look something like this: 3067, 5:46.66 1017, 5:51.09 1013, 5:52.25 2001, 5:55.00 2058, 6:08.88 ...
  • Save your results.
